About Me

Throughout my extensive career as a clinical social worker, I have provided services through numerous agencies in both the public and private sectors, as well as through private practice. I have worked with individuals of all ages, and have an expertise in serving the older adult population and their families. Working along side an individual through the hurts and joys of life is indeed a personal and professional privilege. In my work as a therapist I believe that a safe, caring environment along with wisdom, knowledge, skills, hope and a belief in one’s strengths provide the arena and possibility for individuals through commitment, hard work and time to achieve an increased sense of self-awareness, growth, healing, wholeness and peace in their lives. My scope of practice lies in the areas of mental health and older adults, relational dynamics, loss and grief, life change and transition, depression, anxiety, women’s issues, spirituality, personal growth and development, self-replenishment and recovery from personal/professional burnout. My approach is holistic in nature, combined with psychodynamic psychotherapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, interpersonal theory and often simple homework assignments that help to promote awareness, empowerment and direction for the future.

As workshop leader, I have also presented a multitude of educational experiences to consumers, professionals and the general public in both the aging and mental health arenas, academic institutions and church organizations. I am also truly passionate about delivering Replenishment Workshop/Retreats to professionals and others seeking personal renewal.

On a personal note, I have 1 son, 1 granddaughter (thus far), and 2 sweet geriatric cats. I enjoy walking, journaling, reading, music, gardening, baking and spending time with dear girlfriends while sharing a cup of hot tea.
